WHAT WE DO

Most members of the committee also represent Croydon governors at various Croydon LEA committees such as :

      a   Education joint Safety Committee;

                                         Click here for questions governors should be asking about H&S

      b   Security Working Party

      c   Admissions Forum;

     d   Governor Planning Group

     e  Schools Organisation Committee

     f  Schools Forum

By participating in these committees and by regularly attending governor conferences, both nationally and locally, the Association, through its committee, gains valuable , topical information which it can use to inform Croydon governors and help to keep them abreast of current initiatives

All members of governing bodies in schools and colleges in Croydon are invited to attend the termly meeting of the ACG. At these meetings, there is always the opportunity to meet and discuss problems of governance and to exchange examples of good practice with other governors. Speakers, national and local, are often present to provide an 'expert' view on topics chosen by Croydon governors.

Topics discussed at previous termly meetings include :

Ofsted inspections and Action Plans;

Security in schools;

Inclusion / Exclusion;

Education Action Zones;

Five Year Strategy for Children and Learners

Workforce Re-modelling

Consultation on Three Year Budgets
